Title: Executive DirectorGeneral Responsibilities:Responsibilities include day-to-day program implementation, including supervision of two full-time staff, direct advising and educational programming with student population of 50 - 60, recruitment and ongoing support/training for volunteer tutors and internship sponsors, regular contact with school personnel and parents, and community outreach. Also responsible for financial records and reporting, budget development, proposal writing, public relations materials and events, and documentation of student progress and program activities. Additionally, the executive director is responsible for planning and supervising wilderness excursions for each student class and for a one-week freshman academic retreat. Works closely with the Delaware Futures Board on organizational issues, fundraising, publicity and public relations, recruitment of partnering colleges, and program development.Job Duties:Creates a clear and enthusiastic vision; Possesses ability to generate new ideas and gain acceptance; Displays strong administrative skills; Highly skilled in budget matters; Possesses skills to organize people and activities to accomplish objectives; Effective fund-raiser; Builds trust easily; Experienced in dealing with young people of diverse backgrounds; Demonstrates ability to coach/develop youth; Displays confidence and comfort level to deal effectively with business and community groups; Possesses desire to become involved in community; Possesses required degree of technical knowledge; Demonstrates good communication skills; verbal and written; and Computer literateQualifications:The position has the accountability for tactical and strategic activities relating to program direction and administration. Must he high flexible, efficient and multi-task oriented. Ability to work with multicultural populations.Immediate Supervisor:Serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors |
